Commonly known as the Parlour Palm, Chamaedorea elegans is a small palm that produces dark green foliage and tiny yellow flowers. The soft fern-like fronds with thin leaflets add to the attractive display of this palm. Chamaedorea elegans is an ideal container plant for indoors, or outdoors in a cool, moist position that is protected from hot sun and drying winds. Chamaedorea elegans prefers full shade, or indoors with indirect light exposure. This palm can tolerate low levels of humidity. Chamaedorea elegans is relatively low maintenance. During spring and summer, fertilise on a monthly basis. Ensure that enough water is provided based on the amount of light the plant receives. Chamaedorea elegans can grow to a height of 2 metres and a width of 1 metre.
